The Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed Satish Puniya, former Rajasthan state president, as the chief of its Punjab campaign for the upcoming assembly elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Satish Puniya as the chief of its campaign in Punjab for the forthcoming state assembly elections. Puniya, who previously served as the BJP state president in Rajasthan, is known for his organisational skills and has played a key role in the party’s success in Haryana.
Puniya’s appointment follows a series of strategic moves by the BJP to strengthen its presence in northern India. The party has expressed confidence that his experience will help consolidate support across Punjab’s diverse electorate.
The decision was made ahead of the election schedule, which is set to be held in 2024. Party officials highlighted Puniya’s track record in mobilising volunteers and managing election logistics as critical assets for the Punjab campaign.
