The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings for rain, thunderstorms and strong winds across 13 districts of Bihar, while Patna continues to experience overcast, chilly conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather advisory on Saturday covering thirteen districts of Bihar, warning of imminent rainfall, thunder‑storm activity and gusty winds. The alert applies to districts such as Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and others, where the department expects moderate to heavy showers over the next 24 hours.
In the state capital, Patna, the sky remained overcast throughout the day and temperatures fell noticeably, with a cold feel reported from early morning. No sunshine broke through the cloud cover, and wind speeds are expected to stay above 20 km/h, adding to the chilly ambience.
IMD officials urged residents to avoid non‑essential travel, secure loose objects, and stay informed through local media. Farmers were advised to protect crops that are vulnerable to sudden downpours, while commuters were asked to exercise caution on highways and bridges.
The department will continue to monitor the situation and issue further updates if conditions intensify, especially in the evening and night hours when the risk of localized flooding could increase.
