An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at Rajeopur Police Station in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, was apprehended by the Vigilance Department while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000.

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) attached to the Rajeopur Police Station in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, has been arrested by the Vigilance Department. The ASI was caught in the act of accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant.

The officer had reportedly demanded an initial sum of Rs 10,000 for taking action in a contentious case. The amount was later settled at Rs 8,000, following negotiations.

The Vigilance team apprehended the ASI at his own police station, concluding the operation.
