Bhopal Municipal Corp Tax Scam

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has been rocked by a major tax scam, with a large number of suspicious accounts and a potential loss of over 10 crore. The scam came to light during an audit of the corporation's property tax records. It was found that in some cases, the area of buildings was reduced on paper, resulting in lower tax liability. In other cases, tax receipts were issued without any payment being made. The audit revealed that 106 tax receipts were issued without any payment, raising suspicions of a large-scale scam.
