Security forces in Manipur launched a coordinated search and cordon operation on Thursday, a day after a militant was killed in the region.
Manipur's police and army units began a systematic search and cordon operation on Thursday, following the killing of a militant in the state. The deployment covers several districts where the militant presence has been reported, with forces moving in to secure villages and strategic points.
The operation aims to prevent any retaliatory attacks, gather intelligence, and restore normalcy for civilians. Security officials have instructed local residents to cooperate and avoid the areas under cordon until the sweep is completed.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the slain militant or the exact locations of the raids, citing operational sensitivity. The move reflects the state's ongoing efforts to curb insurgent activities after a recent spate of violence.
