During a two‑day food safety operation, Bhopal authorities raided ten major hotels, uncovering expired fish‑chicken, rotten potatoes, spoiled mushrooms, and insect‑infested lentils. Samples were sent for laboratory testing.
In a focused food safety drive, the Bhopal Food Safety Department conducted raids on ten prominent hotels over two days. The operation uncovered a range of violations, including expired fish‑chicken at Siyaji, 50 kilograms of rotten potatoes at Redisn, spoiled mushrooms and vegetables at Palash, and insect‑infested lentils and kidney beans at Turtokoi.
The seized items were immediately collected and sent to the department’s laboratory for detailed analysis. Authorities emphasized that such findings pose serious health risks to consumers and highlighted the need for stricter compliance with food safety norms.
The raid, part of a broader initiative to curb food adulteration, was carried out with the cooperation of local police and the municipal corporation. Officials have warned that any establishment found violating standards could face legal action and revocation of licenses.
