A tech professional in Bengaluru was found firing an air gun for 45 minutes inside his apartment, prompting police intervention and a subsequent investigation.
Police were called to a residential building in Bengaluru after neighbors reported loud noises. The incident took place in the early hours of Monday, when a resident was found firing an air gun repeatedly inside his apartment.
According to the Bengaluru City Police, the suspect, a 32‑year‑old software engineer, had been drinking before the event. He was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody.
The officer in charge said the suspect was charged under Section 336 of the Indian Penal Code for endangering life and property. He is expected to appear in court next week.
Air guns are prohibited for civilian use in India without a license. Authorities have warned that firing such weapons in residential areas can cause serious injury or property damage.
