The Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain conducted a Bhasma Aarti on the morning of Wednesday, coinciding with the Shravana Shukla Paksha Saptami. Devotees gathered early to witness the ritual, which is a key observance in the temple’s annual calendar.
During the ceremony, the deity Baba Mahakal received a Panchamrit abhishek, after which priests adorned the idol with traditional offerings: bhang, belpatra (betel leaves), and tripund (three vertical ash marks). A silver crown was placed on the deity’s head, and a garland of fresh mogra (jasmine) completed the elaborate decoration.
