Two female MBBS interns were allegedly sexually harassed on the Haryana Medical College campus last week, and the alleged perpetrators have been taken into custody, police said.
Two separate incidents of alleged sexual harassment involving female MBBS interns were reported from within the Haryana Medical College campus last week. According to a senior officer of the Women Police Station in Khanpur Kalan, the interns approached the police after the incidents, prompting an immediate investigation.
Police officials identified the accused individuals and arrested them on suspicion of committing the offences. The arrests were made following statements from the victims and corroborating evidence gathered from the college premises.
The college administration has expressed concern over the safety of its students and has pledged full cooperation with law enforcement agencies. An internal review of campus security measures is reportedly underway to prevent any recurrence.
The case is now under the jurisdiction of the local women's police unit, which will continue to probe the matter and file formal charges as appropriate.
