The Arunachal Congress has urged the central government to make frontier security and border infrastructure the highest priority, citing strategic concerns in the northeastern region.
New Delhi – Representatives of the Arunachal Congress met on Tuesday to press the government for an accelerated focus on frontier security and the development of border infrastructure in the state. The party highlighted the vulnerability of the region's remote frontiers and the need for modern roads, surveillance systems and rapid deployment facilities to deter any incursions.
Party leaders argued that existing infrastructure is inadequate for both civilian connectivity and military logistics, especially in the wake of heightened tensions along the India-China border. They called for immediate allocation of funds and coordination with the Ministry of Defence and the Border Roads Organisation.
The demand comes as the central government reviews its defence spending and infrastructure projects in the Northeast.
