Teachers at Amritsar's EDID school have been waiting six months for pending salaries and have warned of a possible strike.

Teachers at the privately run EDID school in Amritsar have been awaiting their salaries for six months, according to a statement released on Monday. The delay, which the staff say stems from administrative bottlenecks, has left many educators without regular income since the start of the financial year.

The faculty collective approached the school management and the district education office repeatedly, but their pleas for payment have not been acted upon. As a result, teachers are facing mounting personal expenses and are unable to meet basic financial commitments.

In response, the teachers issued a warning that they may commence a peaceful protest or strike if the dues are not cleared within the next week. The school administration has acknowledged the grievance and said it is seeking clarification from the sponsoring agency, while district officials have promised to review the matter urgently.
