Police in Ahmedabad detained the grandson of a local bookie after he drove a multi‑crore Mustang, caused a collision and assaulted people at the scene.
Ahmedabad police detained a young man identified as the grandson of a local bookie after he was caught driving a luxury Mustang valued at several crore rupees. The vehicle was involved in a road accident that left multiple vehicles damaged.
Witnesses reported that the driver was speeding, collided with other traffic and then physically assaulted by‑standers who tried to intervene. The assault was described as unprovoked and violent.
Authorities seized the Mustang, filed charges of reckless driving, assault and causing a public nuisance, and placed the suspect in custody pending further investigation. Police officials warned that such reckless behaviour will attract strict legal action.
The incident has sparked concerns about the misuse of high‑value cars and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws in the city.
