The Asian Development Bank announced a $1 billion investment aimed at enhancing sustainable development and resilience in Indian urban centers.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) today announced a commitment of US$1 billion to support sustainable growth and resilience in Indian cities.

The funding is earmarked for projects that improve urban infrastructure, promote green transport, and strengthen disaster‑resilience measures across major metropolitan areas.

ADB officials said the investment will help India meet its climate‑adaptation targets and improve the quality of life for millions of urban residents.

The bank will work closely with Indian state and municipal authorities to identify priority projects and ensure efficient use of the funds.
