The Delhi Transport Corporation's strike entered its fourth day, leaving more than 3,000 buses off the road and causing severe inconvenience for lakhs of commuters across the capital.
The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) workers have kept the city’s public‑bus network idle for four consecutive days. Over 3,000 DTC buses have been withdrawn from service, effectively removing a major share of Delhi’s mass‑transit capacity.
Commuters across the National Capital Region are reporting long queues at private auto‑rickshaws, taxis and ride‑sharing services, while many are forced to rely on walking or cycling to reach workplaces and schools. The sudden shortage has also led to severe traffic congestion on major arterial roads.
City officials have appealed for calm and urged commuters to use alternative modes of transport while negotiations continue between DTC management and the striking workers. No official timeline for the resumption of services has been announced yet.
