The Himachal Pradesh government announced that 11 lakh farmers have been credited with a total of Rs 220 crore under the 24th instalment of the PM‑KISAN scheme, according to minister Bindal.
The state government confirmed that 11 lakh farmers have been allotted Rs 220 crore under the 24th tranche of the PM‑KISAN scheme. The payment, announced by minister Bindal, is part of the central government's direct cash transfer programme aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers.
Under the scheme each eligible farmer receives Rs 6,000 a year in three equal instalments, and the latest disbursement continues this schedule.
Funds are being transferred directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts linked to the Jan Dhan Yojana, a step the government says enhances transparency and ensures timely relief before the sowing season.
State officials have been conducting verification drives to achieve full coverage of eligible families, reflecting Himachal Pradesh's proactive approach to the nationwide PM‑KISAN initiative launched in 2019.
