The statewide panchayat polls in Rajasthan recorded a 78.77% voter turnout, while isolated incidents of violence were reported in a few locations.

The panchayat elections held across Rajasthan this week registered a voter turnout of 78.77%, indicating robust participation at the grassroots level. Election officials described the turnout as one of the highest in recent local polls, reflecting strong public interest in village governance.

Despite the overall peaceful conduct, law enforcement agencies reported sporadic episodes of violence in a handful of polling stations. The incidents were limited in scope and did not affect the overall voting process, according to the state election commission.

Security forces were deployed in sensitive areas ahead of the polls, and rapid response teams were on standby to contain any unrest. Officials urged citizens to remain calm and cooperate with authorities, emphasizing that the democratic exercise must proceed without disruption.

The election commission has pledged to investigate the reported disturbances and take appropriate action against those responsible, while also commending the high voter engagement that underscores the importance of local self‑government in Rajasthan.
