A group of young Indian rappers have launched the ‘Climate Emergency Mixtape’ to raise awareness about the climate crisis and urge immediate action.
A collective of emerging Indian rap artists has put out a new compilation titled “Climate Emergency Mixtape.” The project, announced through the entertainment portal Indulge Express, brings together tracks that blend hip‑hop beats with messages about rising temperatures, extreme weather and the urgency of environmental stewardship.
The mixtape is intended as a cultural bridge, using the popularity of rap among youth to translate scientific concerns into relatable lyrics. Each song spotlights a specific aspect of the climate emergency—such as melting glaciers, air‑pollution in megacities, and the impact on agriculture—while urging listeners to adopt greener habits and support policy reforms.
While the release is still fresh, early reactions on social media indicate that the initiative is resonating with young audiences across the country. Organisers hope the music will inspire concrete action, complementing broader climate‑change campaigns underway in India.
