Temperatures in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region have risen above normal, with Yavatmal hitting a peak of 37.8°C, according to Mid‑Day.
The Meteorological Department reported that the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra is currently experiencing temperatures higher than the seasonal average. Among the districts, Yavatmal recorded the highest reading at 37.8°C, marking a notable rise for this period.
Such above‑normal heat is expected to persist over the next few days, prompting local authorities to advise residents to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. The department also warned that the elevated temperatures could exacerbate heat‑related health risks, especially for vulnerable groups.
Farmers in the region have been cautioned about potential impacts on crops, as higher temperatures can accelerate soil moisture loss. The state government is monitoring the situation and stands ready to activate heat‑wave relief measures if conditions worsen.
Officials emphasized that the temperature spike is part of a broader pattern of warmer weather across central India this summer, and they continue to issue regular updates through official channels.
