All-rounder Will O'Rourke will miss the upcoming Test series against India after sustaining an injury, adding to New Zealand's recent injury concerns.
Will O'Rourke, the New Zealand all‑rounder, has been ruled out of the forthcoming Test series against India after a muscle injury was confirmed during the team's training camp. The setback deprives the Black Caps of a versatile player who has contributed both with bat and ball in recent tours.
The injury comes as New Zealand cricket is already grappling with a fresh blow to its playing resources, following another unnamed player’s withdrawal due to fitness concerns. Team management confirmed that the squad’s depth is being tested ahead of the high‑profile series in India.
Coach Gary Stead said the team will look to other senior members and emerging talent to fill the void left by O'Rourke. The board is also reviewing potential replacements to maintain a balanced side for the challenging sub‑continental conditions.
