West Bengal to Conduct TET for 90,000 In‑Service Teachers Following Supreme Court Directive

The Supreme Court of India has recently ruled that all teachers, including those already in service, must sit for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to ensure uniform standards across the country. In response, the West Bengal government has directed state authorities to prepare for a large‑scale TET that will cover 90,000 in‑service teachers across the state. The education department will coordinate the logistics, including venue selection, exam dates, and candidate registration, aiming to complete the process within the next six months.
