Residents and rail commuters gathered at Mahrail station in Madhubani district, demanding that the Anand Vihar Special Express (train 04013/04014) make a scheduled stop there.

Earlier this week, a sizable group of villagers and regular rail passengers assembled on the platform of Mahrail railway station, located on the Jhanjharpur‑Laukaha line in Madhubani district. Their protest centered on a demand that the Anand Vihar Special Express, operating under train numbers 04013/04014, be scheduled to halt at the station.

The demonstrators argued that a stop at Mahrail would greatly ease travel for the local population, many of whom rely on the train for long‑distance journeys to Delhi and other major cities. They also highlighted the absence of any nearby alternative stations, which forces commuters to travel extra distances to board the train.

Railway officials present at the site warned that any obstruction of the tracks could disrupt services along the entire line. While the authorities have not yet issued a formal decision, they indicated that the demand would be forwarded to higher officials for consideration.

The protest remained peaceful, with participants holding placards and chanting slogans. No arrests were reported, and the station continued to operate without a scheduled stop for the special train pending further deliberations.
