Vegetable Lorry Driver Killed in Collision with Container Truck in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli
A 56-year-old vegetable shop owner died when his lorry collided with a container truck near VM Sattiram, Palayamkottai, while a driver on the other vehicle escaped injury.
A lorry carrying vegetables from Madurai to Nagarkovil collided with a container truck at about 5 a.m. in the VM Sattiram area of Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu.
The left-hand vehicle was owned by 56-year-old Kasilingam of Sathankulam, proprietor of C.M. vegetable shop; he was killed on the spot as his body was crushed in the crash.
The driver of the other lorry, Kalai Kumar, escaped without injury. Rescue teams from Palayamkottai arrived promptly after receiving the report and recovered the victim's body from the wreckage.
