The state government said it will broaden specialized medical facilities and boost paramedical education to address healthcare gaps.

Uttarakhand's government has unveiled a plan to enlarge the scope of specialised healthcare services across the state, alongside a concerted effort to strengthen paramedical education programmes. The initiative aims to bridge existing gaps in medical infrastructure and create a larger pool of trained support staff for hospitals and clinics.

Officials indicated that the expansion will involve setting up new specialised departments in existing hospitals and establishing additional training centres for paramedical courses. By enhancing both service delivery and skill development, the state hopes to improve patient outcomes and reduce reliance on out‑of‑state facilities.

The rollout is expected to be phased, with detailed guidelines to be issued in the coming weeks. Stakeholders from the health and education sectors have been invited to contribute to the implementation strategy, ensuring that the programme aligns with national health objectives.
