Uttar Pradesh to Offer Free Bus Travel for Women and One Companion on Raksha Bandhan

The Uttar Pradesh administration has declared that, on Raksha Bandhan, women will be permitted to travel without charge on state‑run bus services. Each woman can be accompanied by a single person, who will also travel free of cost. The measure aims to facilitate the traditional pilgrimage and family visits that are common during the festival.
