A rare sighting of a five-foot-long crocodile has been reported for the first time in the Indira Gandhi Canal near Nachna in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Forest officials are surprised by the unusual presence of the reptile.

In an unusual development, a crocodile measuring approximately five feet in length has been observed in the Indira Gandhi Canal near the Nachna area of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This marks the first recorded instance of such a reptile being spotted in this specific stretch of the canal.

The presence of the crocodile has surprised local forest department officials. Experts speculate that the reptile may have been carried to this location from the Harike Barrage in Punjab, likely along with the water flow.

Authorities are currently assessing the situation and considering measures to safely manage the presence of the crocodile in the canal, a significant water source for the region.
