The United Nations has published a new map that places Arunachal Pradesh and the disputed Aksai Chin region between the lines claimed by India and China.

The United Nations released a fresh cartographic representation that delineates the contested border areas of Arunachal Pradesh in the northeast and Aksai Chin in the western sector of the Himalayas. The map positions both territories between two parallel lines – one drawn by India and the other by China – highlighting the overlapping claims.

Arunachal Pradesh, administered by India but claimed by China as part of “South Tibet,” and Aksai Chin, under Chinese control but asserted by India as part of Ladakh, appear side‑by‑side on the UN diagram. The illustration does not endorse either claim but merely visualises the disputed frontiers as they exist in diplomatic negotiations.

The publication comes amid ongoing diplomatic talks between New Delhi and Beijing over the Line of Actual Control. While the UN has not taken a stance on sovereignty, the map underscores the complexity of the border dispute and may serve as a reference point for future multilateral discussions.
