Electric two-wheeler maker Ultraviolette plans to commission a new manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu worth Rs 779 crore within the next six to eight months.
Ultraviolette, a Bangalore‑based electric vehicle startup, announced that it aims to begin operations at a new manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu within six to eight months. The plant, projected to cost around Rs 779 crore, will expand the company's production capacity for its electric scooters and motorcycles.
The company said the timeline accounts for land acquisition, construction and installation of production lines, as well as regulatory clearances. Once operational, the facility is expected to create several hundred jobs and boost local supply chains for components such as batteries and motor assemblies.
Industry analysts view the investment as a sign of growing confidence in India's electric two‑wheeler market, which has seen rising demand driven by government incentives and increasing consumer awareness of sustainable mobility.
