Gaurav Raghuvanshi's Gir cow from Talod village in Ujjain district produced an average of 19 litres of milk per day, securing first place in Madhya Pradesh's dairy production competition and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

The Gir breed cow owned by farmer Gaurav Raghuvanshi in Talod, a village in Ujjain district, recorded a daily milk yield of approximately 19 litres. This performance placed the animal at the top of the Madhya Pradesh state dairy production competition, a contest that evaluates milk output across the region.

The competition awarded the winning entrant a cash prize of one lakh rupees, recognizing the exceptional productivity of the animal and the farmer's management practices. Officials noted that such high yields are uncommon for most dairy cattle in the state.

Raghuvanshi, a local livestock keeper, expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the potential of indigenous breeds like Gir to contribute significantly to the state's dairy sector. The win underscores the importance of breed selection and proper animal husbandry in enhancing milk production.

State agricultural authorities plan to showcase the cow as a model for other farmers, encouraging the adoption of best practices that can replicate similar results across Madhya Pradesh's dairy farms.
