On Friday, 6 November, Dhanteras coincides with the Hasta star, offering auspicious muhurats for gold‑silver purchases and Lakshmi‑Kuber worship in Ujjain.
Ujjain will observe Dhanteras on Friday, 6 November 2024, marking a rare alignment of the festival with the Hasta nakshatra. Astrologers have identified several auspicious muhurats on this day, which are considered ideal for buying gold and silver, as well as for performing Lakshmi‑Kuber puja.
The conjunction of a Friday and the Hasta star is deemed especially favorable for traders and business owners. According to traditional calculations, the sunrise, the first quarter of the day and the evening period each contain specific time slots that are free from inauspicious influences, making them suitable for financial transactions and investments.
Local priests in Ujjain recommend starting the day with a simple Lakshmi‑Kuber puja at home or in commercial establishments, followed by the purchase of precious metals during the identified muhurats. The guidance aims to attract prosperity and safeguard wealth throughout the coming year.
While the festival is celebrated nationwide, the specific timing details released by regional astrologers are tailored for the Ujjain region, reflecting local sunrise and planetary positions. Residents are advised to consult the published muhurat tables before finalising any purchases or rituals.
