Renowned Udaipur artist Dr Iqbal Sakka has created miniature 1 mm replicas of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, planning to present them to Saudi Arabia's prime minister as a diplomatic gift from India.

Udaipur-based artist Dr Iqbal Sakka, celebrated for crafting objects that are smaller than a fingertip, has completed two ultra‑miniature replicas of Islam's holiest sites. Each model measures just one millimetre, capturing the essential outlines of the Kaaba in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina.

The miniature works are the latest addition to Sakka's portfolio of micro‑art, a niche he has cultivated over years of painstaking handwork. He intends to send the models to the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia as a symbolic gesture of cultural goodwill on behalf of India.

While the exact timing of the presentation has not been disclosed, the initiative reflects ongoing people‑to‑people outreach between the two nations. Sakka hopes the tiny artefacts will be appreciated for both their artistic precision and the respect they convey for the sacred cities.
