During the severe flooding in Nepal, the two sisters, Palak and Pallavi from Anupur, Madhya Pradesh, were found safe, while several relatives remain missing.
The monsoon‑triggered flood that swept across parts of Nepal this week has claimed many lives and left thousands stranded. Rescue teams operating in the affected districts reported that two young women, identified as Palak and Pallavi, residents of Anupur in Madhya Pradesh, were located alive after being missing for several days.
Local authorities said the sisters were rescued near a riverbank after volunteers from a cross‑border relief effort spotted them clinging to debris. They were immediately transferred to a medical camp where they received basic first‑aid and are now being repatriated to their hometown.
While the safe return of the two sisters brings relief to their family, the search continues for other missing persons, including two brothers from Raipur and five additional relatives who were travelling with the group. Their relatives, including Swati Bagricha, have appealed to authorities for swift action and regular updates.
The incident underscores the vulnerability of Indian nationals caught in natural disasters abroad and highlights the need for coordinated rescue operations between India and Nepal during such emergencies.
