A fire ignited by piled waste at the Singhia Community Health Centre in Samastipur engulfed two malfunctioning ambulances, reducing them to ash and causing panic among patients.

A blaze broke out in the waste heap at the Singhia Community Health Centre (CHC) in Samastipur, Bihar, and quickly spread to two ambulances parked nearby. The vehicles, described as out‑of‑order, were completely consumed by the flames, leaving only charred remains.
The sudden fire triggered a chaotic scene inside the hospital compound, with patients and staff scrambling to evacuate the affected area. Witnesses reported a surge of panic as the flames intensified, but no injuries were reported from the fire itself.
Fire‑fighting teams arrived promptly and managed to bring the blaze under control. Local authorities have launched an inquiry to determine the cause of the waste‑related fire and to assess safety lapses at the health centre.
Hospital officials said that medical services continued in other sections of the CHC while the damaged ambulances are being replaced. The incident underscores the need for better waste‑management practices in medical facilities.
The investigation will also examine whether the parked ambulances complied with safety regulations, as their condition may have contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.
