The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will provide a Rs 2 lakh life‑insurance policy to registered devotees, as announced by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

TTD announced that every devotee who registers at its pilgrim centres will receive a life‑insurance policy worth Rs 2 lakh, aimed at providing financial security in case of accidental death during the pilgrimage.
The scheme, unveiled by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during a press conference in Tirupati, will be funded through a dedicated corpus created from a portion of the temple’s annual donations and will be administered by a partnered insurance firm.
Officials said the insurance will be automatically activated once the devotee’s biometric data is captured at the entry point, and claims can be processed within 30 days. The move is part of a broader effort to modernise pilgrim services and enhance safety at the world‑renowned Tirumala shrine.
The CM also hinted at upcoming infrastructure upgrades at the Tirumala complex, but the insurance scheme remains the immediate focus of the announcement.
