The Tripura State Election Commission has conducted a review of the preparations for the upcoming TTAADC village committee polls, focusing on logistics, voter lists and security arrangements.
The Tripura State Election Commission (SEC) held a briefing to evaluate the status of preparations for the Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) village committee elections. Officials examined the completeness of voter rolls, the deployment of polling personnel, and the availability of voting equipment across the council's 527 villages.
The review highlighted that most polling stations have been earmarked and that training sessions for election staff are scheduled to conclude by the end of the month. The SEC also coordinated with district administration to ensure adequate security personnel are in place to maintain order on polling day.
While the commission noted that logistical arrangements are largely on track, it urged local authorities to expedite any pending tasks, such as the distribution of ballot boxes and the installation of electronic voting machines where applicable. The SEC will submit a final readiness report to the state government before the election schedule is officially announced.
The TTAADC village committee polls are a key component of the council's democratic process, allowing residents of tribal areas to elect representatives who manage local governance and development initiatives.
