Police in Tripura have arrested eight individuals following an assault on Border Security Force personnel in Sepahijala, and have filed charges against 19 people in connection with the incident.
In a swift operation, Tripura police arrested eight suspects linked to an attack on Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in the town of Sepahijala. The incident, which took place earlier this week, saw BSF troops coming under fire from unknown assailants.
Following the arrests, authorities have registered a case against a total of 19 individuals, indicating a broader conspiracy behind the attack. Police officials said the investigation is ongoing and that additional evidence is being collected.
The BSF has confirmed that none of its personnel suffered serious injuries, though the assault raised concerns about the security of border outposts in the region. The Tripura Police Commissioner emphasized that the state would take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
