The Tripura state government announced it will shoulder the entire increase in electricity tariffs, providing direct relief to more than ten lakh households.
The Tripura administration has declared that it will absorb 100% of the additional electricity tariff imposed on consumers. By taking on the full cost increase, the government aims to ease the financial burden on households across the state.
More than ten lakh consumer families are expected to benefit from this measure, as the additional charges will no longer be passed on to them. The relief is projected to lower monthly electricity expenses for a large segment of the population.
The decision reflects the state’s effort to address rising living costs and ensure essential services remain affordable. Officials indicated that the policy will be implemented immediately, with the electricity board adjusting billing accordingly.
