Chief Minister Manik Saha called for a statewide social campaign to combat drug abuse, urging citizens, NGOs and institutions to join the effort.

Chief Minister Manik Saha, addressing reporters in Tripura, warned that drug abuse continues to rise and that government actions alone cannot curb the menace.
He appealed for the anti‑drug fight to be turned into a broad‑based social movement, inviting schools, community groups, religious bodies and the private sector to spread awareness and protect young people.
The CM announced additional funding for rehabilitation centres and the launch of statewide awareness programmes, while urging law‑enforcement agencies to step up monitoring and interdiction.
Saha also called on the media to play a constructive role in disseminating anti‑drug messages and asked families to remain vigilant against substance abuse.
