Ajhar Ali, a resident of Madhubani, had purchased a WagonR from Maharashtra and sought a Bihar registration number. According to the complainant, the officer asked for a bribe of Rs 15,000 before completing the paperwork.
Following the complaint, a monitoring team from the district’s anti‑corruption cell launched an investigation. The team inspected the office’s records, verified the allegation, and apprehended the operator on the spot. The suspect was taken into custody for further questioning under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
