A 47-year‑old tractor driver, Sunil Kumar, was shot dead late on Tuesday in Porai village, Nalanda district, after a disagreement over two parked bikes in a narrow lane.

Police reports say that a dispute erupted late on Tuesday in the narrow lane of Porai village, Harnaut police station area, when two unidentified motorcycles were left parked in a confined space. The disagreement escalated when 47‑year‑old tractor driver Sunil Kumar, who had returned home three days earlier on leave, confronted the motorcyclists about the obstruction.

According to eyewitnesses, the argument turned violent and a firearm was used. Sunil Kumar was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The two motorcycles remained in the lane after the incident, and the identities of the riders have not been disclosed.

Local authorities have launched an investigation, registering a murder case and seeking information on the suspects. The incident has raised concerns about safety in the village’s narrow streets, where parking conflicts are common.

The police have appealed to residents for any CCTV footage or witnesses who can help identify the gunman. The case is being handled by the Nalanda district crime branch, and further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
