Tirumala Venkateswara Temple officials warn that due to a severe lack of rainfall, the temple’s water reservoirs may be exhausted within 90 days.

Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, one of India’s most visited pilgrimage sites, has issued a warning that its water reserves could be depleted in roughly three months if the current dry spell continues. The temple’s water supply, which serves thousands of devotees daily, relies heavily on rainfall to replenish its reservoirs.

Officials at the temple cited recent meteorological reports indicating a significant deficit in rainfall across the region. With the reservoirs already at low levels, the lack of replenishment threatens to disrupt daily rituals and the temple’s ability to cater to the influx of pilgrims.

The temple administration has urged the public to support water conservation efforts and to seek alternative sources of water to mitigate the impending shortage. The situation remains under close monitoring by both temple authorities and local government agencies.

The warning comes amid broader concerns over water scarcity in Andhra Pradesh, where several districts have reported below‑average rainfall in recent months.

Temple officials have not yet released a detailed plan for addressing the shortfall, but they have indicated that measures will be taken to secure additional water supplies before the projected depletion date.
