The excise enforcement squad that arrived in Rampar Baghelan, Satna to curb illegal liquor sales reported that its members were subjected to abusive language, physical assault and threats by local residents. According to the team’s sub‑inspector, the confrontation escalated when the officers attempted to inspect premises suspected of selling illicit alcohol.
Following the incident, the sub‑inspector filed a formal First Information Report (FIR) naming three individuals alleged to have participated in the assault and intimidation. The police have registered the case and begun a preliminary investigation, collecting statements from the officers and any eyewitnesses present at the scene.
