Thomas Cook India announced the launch of its inaugural outlet in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, signaling the company's entry into a market identified as high‑potential for travel and financial services. The opening ceremony was attended by senior executives who highlighted the strategic importance of the city in the firm's state‑wide expansion plan.
The new branch will provide a full suite of Thomas Cook offerings, including foreign exchange, travel insurance, holiday packages and corporate travel solutions. By bringing these services closer to local customers, the firm aims to capture growing demand from both individual travellers and businesses in the region.
Company officials noted that Gorakhpur's rising economic activity, improved connectivity and increasing disposable incomes made it an ideal location for the first outlet in the city. The move aligns with Thomas Cook India's broader objective to deepen its footprint across Uttar Pradesh, following recent openings in other tier‑2 cities.
The outlet's launch underscores the confidence of the travel conglomerate in the purchasing power of consumers in eastern Uttar Pradesh and its intent to secure a larger share of India's burgeoning travel market.
