A woman in Obra, Aurangabad district reported a ₹20 lakh gold‑silver jewellery theft; three days later the thieves left the bag at her doorstep after she appealed on social media.

Police in Obra, Aurangabad district, Bihar, are investigating a theft in which jewellery worth approximately ₹20 lakh was taken from a woman's residence. The victim, a local resident, discovered the loss and promptly reported it to the authorities.

Following the theft, she posted a heartfelt appeal on social media, urging the culprits to return the stolen items and warning the community about the crime.

Three days after the incident, the thieves placed a bag containing the stolen jewellery at the victim's front door and fled the scene. The bag was recovered by the homeowner, who immediately informed the police.

Local law enforcement has opened a case, collecting forensic evidence from the bag and canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses. Officials have not disclosed any details about suspects or arrests at this stage.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by residents in smaller towns and the role of social media in prompting swift action from perpetrators.
