TERI, Meghalaya Energy Corp Sign MoU to Boost State’s Renewable Energy

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MECL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding today to collaborate on expanding renewable energy projects across Meghalaya.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MECL) formalised a partnership today aimed at accelerating renewable energy development in the state.
The Memorandum of Understanding outlines joint efforts to identify suitable sites, conduct feasibility studies, and secure financing for solar, wind and small hydro projects.
Both parties plan to leverage TERI’s research expertise and MECL’s local network to streamline approvals, reduce project timelines and attract private investment.
The collaboration is expected to increase Meghalaya’s renewable capacity by 200 MW over the next five years, contributing to the state’s energy security and climate goals.
