Telangana CM urges new airports and Telangana Bhavan to showcase state culture

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao said that the architectural plans for upcoming airports and the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi must incorporate elements of Telangana’s heritage.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao emphasized that any new airport projects in Telangana should be designed to reflect the state’s rich cultural identity. He made the remarks during a recent press interaction, underscoring the importance of architecture as a medium for cultural expression.
The state government is currently evaluating proposals for additional airports to improve connectivity and boost economic growth. Rao urged planners and architects to embed traditional motifs, local art forms and indigenous materials into the design of these facilities.
Similarly, the upcoming Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi, which will serve as a cultural and administrative hub for the state, is expected to showcase Telangana’s heritage. The chief minister called for the building’s façade, interiors and landscaping to feature elements such as Kakatiya-inspired arches, regional crafts and motifs from the state’s folk traditions.
