The Bharatiya Janata Party held tribute events as senior leader L.K. Advani entered his 100th year, honoring his role in the party’s history.
New Delhi – The Bharatiya Janata Party marked the centenary milestone of veteran leader Lalan Kumar Advani with a series of tribute events across its headquarters. Senior party figures, including the current prime minister and party president, highlighted Advani’s pivotal role in shaping the BJP’s ideological foundation and electoral successes since its early days.
Organisers arranged a commemorative ceremony that featured a video montage of Advani’s political journey, from his early activism in the Jana Sangh to his tenure as Deputy Prime Minister. The party also released a special booklet documenting his contributions to the nation’s democratic discourse.
While Advani, now 99, was not present due to health reasons, his family accepted the party’s homage on his behalf. The celebrations underscore the BJP’s effort to honor its senior architects as it looks ahead to upcoming electoral challenges.
The event, held without any political rallying, focused solely on acknowledging Advani’s legacy and the values he championed throughout his six‑decade public service career.
