Tamil Nadu has emerged as the leading Indian state in research output and patent filings, according to the latest NITI Aayog scoreboard.
NITI Aayog’s latest research and patent scoreboard released on Tuesday shows Tamil Nadu as the top performer among all Indian states.
The state recorded the highest number of research papers published in national and international journals, and it also filed the most patents during the reporting period.
Experts say the result reflects the state’s robust innovation ecosystem, supported by strong university-industry linkages and favourable policies.
The ranking is expected to attract further investment in research and development across Tamil Nadu’s technology hubs.
