The Supreme Court has cancelled the bail granted to Mokama MLA Anant Singh in the Dularchand Yadav murder case and ordered him to surrender by December 1.
The Supreme Court of India has annulled the bail that was previously granted to Anant Singh, a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Mokama, in the Dularchand Yadav murder case.
The decision follows a review of the evidence presented by the prosecution, which argues that Singh’s presence in the courtroom is not necessary for the trial and that he may influence witnesses.
In its order, the Court directed Singh to surrender to the authorities no later than December 1, 2023. The order also stipulated that any further bail applications will be considered only after the surrender deadline.
The ruling is expected to intensify scrutiny of the case, which has already attracted significant media attention and public debate over the role of political figures in criminal proceedings.
