Karnataka authorities have installed environmentally friendly automated high‑tech toilets at the three major heritage sites—Hampi, Pattadakal and Shravanabelagola—to encourage tourism and improve cleanliness.
The smart toilets, which are fully automatic and designed to minimise water usage, are part of a broader initiative to upgrade visitor amenities at popular tourist destinations.
Officials said the new facilities will help maintain the sites’ heritage value while providing modern conveniences to millions of annual visitors.
