Sluice Gate Collapses in Jamalpur’s Parham Panchayat, Flooding Village

A sluice gate at the irrigation dam in Parham Panchayat of Jamalpur district collapsed overnight, letting water flow into the surrounding village. The incident occurred amid a severe flood situation in Muanger, where 38 villages across six blocks are already affected. Local authorities carried out emergency repairs on the gate within a few hours. The sudden breach has left an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 residents displaced or in danger of flooding. The state government has mobilised rescue teams and is monitoring the situation closely.
